I have been supporting a local sole trader for some years, right from the start.

Setting up a business comes with plenty of challenges as you will likely know if you are reading the blog of a Virtual Assistant, wondering what I can do to help a small business. Website setup: sourcing a supplier for website build and hosting, purchase of domain name, monitoring ongoing account, provision of website brief, content: copy and images.

Image library: maintaining image files of all jobs carried out.

Ongoing website maintenance: compliance, copy and imagery refresh as business grows, updating blog (writing content and creating imagery).

Social media: set up of social media accounts, creation of profiles and selection of appropriate settings, ongoing content across multiple channels using photography (supplied) and crafting social posts, copywriting, scheduling posts, auto-reply messages, updating profile as the platforms evolve (e.g. stories, services and so on).

Social media monitoring for opportunities to be responded to. Business stationery: business cards, digital letterhead templates and other branded documentation.

Uniform: contacting suppliers and reviewing costs, sourcing supplier, arranging fitting of branded clothing.

Invoicing: creation of invoice templates, creation of customer invoices ongoing, emailing invoices to customer, responding accordingly, chasing outstanding payments via email.

Quotations: sourcing material costs, creating official quotation documents to be sent to potential customer.

Customer communications: composition of email templates.
