A day in the life of this VA

A day in the life of this VA

No two days are ever the same around here. To give you an insight into what I do here is a quick round up of what my day today has looked like. It has flown by. It is now 4.20pm and I should probably be doing other things, but it just occurred to me what a mixed bag it has been. So, before I start the next project here is a blog for you.

The day started with responding to emails (I try not to work on Sundays if I can) about recruiting HR Advisors, an update on interviews for cleaning staff which I had arranged for Saturday, agreeing to join a client and supplier call for awareness and input into a digital booking system, Monday contact report updates for clients and my favourite bit; invoicing for the clients who pay me weekly.

Next was looking at the inboxes which I manage on behalf of clients, collating responses and sending replies. Posting my own social media content into local small business groups (who might not realise that they need a VA, or what a VA can do to help). Then it became about planting; sourcing and costing up plants for domestic gardening projects.

This afternoon has mostly been artworking and copywriting social media posts (some Christmassy ones), writing about detox drips, anti-ageing (botox) injections, helping to set up an online competition, posting advice on planting bulbs (in the ground, not the type from the lighting section) and pollarding trees to scheduling social media posts up until the end of December.

Next is finishing off a social media strategy document for a business expanding into a new area of rapid growth (research and draft complete, just needs tying together), pulling together notes to create a client’s CV then it will be carrying out invoicing on behalf of a client, including distribution and correspondence, following up on any unpaid invoices via their email inbox.

I did find time to go for a coffee in the middle of all of that too, but as you can see a VA is not a one trick pony, each of us has our strengths and specialisms, but variety is the spice of life.

The day is full of different challenges, I like it that way. A virtual assistant role, for me has been really diverse, I have learned a lot in the past few months and been able to use so many of my existing skills that have been locked away. A Virtual Assistant can be so useful to a business, if you think you might find some of these skills beneficial to your business drop me a line. There are so many things a VA can get on with in the background, allowing business owners to focus on their main passion and goals for moving the business forward, doing what you do best.
